A few YouTube videos of songs I love, with descriptions on what each one is about.

Demain Dès l'Aube

Les Frangines

A French adaptation by Les Frangines of Victor Hugo's 1856 poem "Demain dès l'aube." Hugo wrote it for his daughter Léopoldine, who drowned at nineteen, the speaker describes a quiet journey at dawn, revealed at the end to be a visit to her grave. A poem about grief that doesn't fade. In the video two girls sing the poem as a song.

Take Me Home, Country Roads

John Denver

"Take Me Home, Country Roads" was originally inspired by a drive along Clopper Road in Maryland in 1970, written by Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert, who were driving to a family reunion, but then became a tribute to West Virginia. It's about a deep sense of belonging to a "homeplace" and yearning to see that homeplace.

Faster

A-Train (The Boys)

The official music video for "Faster" by A-Train, a character from Amazon's "The Boys." It's about the character A-train, a speedster inspired by the flash. It's released as the part of the show's worldbuilding, inside the show's universe and treated like a real artist's release.
